Remarks by Sharon Glass: I don’t know how you spent your Tuesday afternoon, I spent mine going over this 58 page 2013 Veto letter Below are some things I saw that the Governor has vetoed, read the whole document, you may find other things that we can thank the Governor for vetoing. My eyes were really opened to what goes on with a budget, and I know we have to be more informed about budgets. Please keep in mind that these are just the veto’s, I have not seen the full budget to see what we may have wanted him to veto that he let by. However, he deserves our appreciation so please make an effort to contact the Governor’s office to thank him for saving Florida taxpayers money.
Page 22 – $1,500,000 from the General Revenue fund, and $2,129,325 from the Medical Trust Fund for special Medicaid payments for Bethesda Hospital located in Palm Beach County.
Page 25 – $450,000 form General Revenue fund for Mental Health Initiative – Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Health Initiative.
Page 26. $400,000 and $2,000.000 from two private organizations asking for tax dollars
Page 28 – $50,000 and $1,000.000 for programs for Localized groups that do not benefit statewide.
Page 31 – $1,725,000 and $610,000 County health departments asking for localized monies from State tax payers
Page 36 – $100,000 and $100,000 from a group that only services three counties and is supported through federal and local funding.
Page 37 – $550,000 This is the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Dept. request that we all made calls to the governor on, and is the responsibility of local government.
Page 43 – $1,000,000 The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission making a request for the Citizens Support Group (a nonprofit group) to create a fund raising program.
Page 44 – $50,000,000…that’s right 50 Million! – to be used to interconnect trails between St. Petersburg to Titusville. This one needs to be watched carefully in the future.
Page 52 – $3,570,750 – To be used for 8 county projects on Historical Courthouses and other specific county projects on historical buildings.
Remarks by Sharon Glass: A good idea from the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund is that we understand the IRS issue and that we have some talking points so there is no confusion about what is going on. Not so long ago, America had a situation where there were a large number of people here illegally. These folks were given health care and other benefits costing you and me, the taxpayers, dearly. In a spirit of fairness, compassion and bipartisanship, the US Congress came together and passed legislation that provided for sealing our borders and providing legal status for the illegals. That law was signed by the President as Public Law 99-603, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. The only problem is, the illegals were provided legal status yet little was done to secure the border. As a result, we still have an open border and we have even more people here illegally. So much so that the burden of providing support and benefits to them is crippling the financial stability of some states.
Now, to address this issue, we have the “gang of 8″ U.S. Senators who, in a spirit of fairness, compassion and bipartisanship, have proposed a bill that will grant millions of illegals legal status and seal the border to “prevent a further influx of illegals in the future. Sound familiar? This is the same US Congress who came up with the 1986 law. Do you think there is any chance at all of the border being sealed? Not a chance!
Now we have freshman Senator Marco Rubio, a member of the “gang of 8″, leading the charge for the new bill. He is being played for a sucker by the rest of the gang. During Senate debate of the bill, numerous attempts were made to strengthen the enforcement of border security but none passed. Do you honestly think there is any chance that the border will be secured? How can Senator Rubio possibly support this nonsense?
Finally, we have a new radio and television advertisement airing featuring Senator Rubio and Representative Paul Ryan calling this bill conservative and falsely claiming that it seals the border before providing legal status. According to a Breitbart news article, it is a product of “Americans for a Conservative Direction”, an offshoot of progressive liberal Mark Zuckerberg’s Fwd.us organization. It calls for us to call our Congressmen and tell them to support this bill. Wrong! It is time to let our Congressmen know to kill this bill. We need to expose this false advertising for what it is.
Once again, it is time for you and I to stop this bad legislation. Call and email the following people and tell them to oppose this bill:

Remarks by Sharon Glass: This article shows that they have already found major issues with Obamacare and have already repealed or defunded parts of it. Now, that they have voted to repeal the whole law in Congress, lets pray that the Senate will also vote for the same. We should also push in Florida for them to stay as far away from any monies from ObamaCare because they could defund any portion of this at any time, and Florida will be left holding the bag.
